Suffolk University, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was established in 1906. It began as an evening law class taught by school founder Gleason Archer. It was named the Suffolk School of Law in 1907 and moved to Archer’s law office in downtown Boston. By 1930, it was one of the largest law schools in the country. The College of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1934 and the business school in 1936. That same year, the three schools were incorporated and became Suffolk University. The first campus residence halls began construction in the 1990s. Today, Suffolk University enrolls more than 7,000 students and counting each year. The school colors are blue and gold, and its athletic nickname is the rams.
